Do all the shooting from long range as you like but if you don't hold caps and can't see the enemy, you've lot. Tirps is even better for it due to torping smoke and anti pushing BBs. Area domination and the Bismarck is the king of it. Park a Bis near a cap with all of it in range and no one dares entering, apart from BBs. Its the fear factor and anti DD (105 mm) / cruiser (150mm) that makes them worth it.
